With strong influences from R&B and Hip Hop, Badu already reaped her first GRAMMY with her first single “On & On”. Their associated album “Baduizm” celebrated worldwide success with further single releases such as “Appletree” and “Other Side Of The Game”, received triple platinum and stayed in the charts for weeks.

  The second studio album of the Texan-born “Mama’s Gun” was released three years later, in 2000, and especially the song “Didn’t Cha Know”, as well as “Bag Lady” and “Cleva”, helped to achieve charter successes and another platinum award.
