• “Concierto” by Jim Hall is without question a masterpiece and one of the greatest LPs in the history of the CTI label. With two legendary musicians in the forefront, trumpeter Chet Baker and saxophonist Paul Desmond, Hall interprets standards and original compositions. A masterpiece of melodic control, with not a note wasted, the centerpiece of this record is Hall’s interpretation of a movement from Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto, arranged by Don Sebesky.

  This recording is considered a jazz masterpiece, recorded in 1975. With prominent accompaniment in the form of Chet Baker on trumpet and Paul Desmond on saxophone, distinguished modern jazz guitarist Jim Hall performs standards as well as original compositions. A highlight on “Concierto” is certainly Hall’s interpretation of a movement from Rodrigo’s “Guitar Concerto” arranged by Don Sebesky.
